Cut and seamed we would fit them together, one square here another there. Old and new it didn't matter.
Isn't that right, oh please agree !
For they will keep Mama wrapped warm and tight and keep her safe from all the frights.
Young or old were all alike, we look, we feel, we snuggle tight.
Isn't that right, agree, agree!
Granny sat up late and got up early, she said, "Just one more seam is all that was needed".
It grew and grew until it covered the table, but it will not stay there, for it will be needed.
Isn't that right, I know you'll agree!
Lines and circles they crossed and turned, they went through the top and throughout the bottom.
Over and over the thread would slide until a finishing knot was ready to be tied.
Patience and Love, dreams and stories, Granny and I stiched in each of those seams.
Memories not lost for there they will be, for I will share them with you if you would only agree, that Mama's quilt was a blessing not just to her but to you from Granny and me.
